However, Tokyo Station isn’t even the most interesting real-life location in Rail Wars! There’s an even more interesting one, Umi-Shibaura Station, a remote location featured in Episode 3. It’s a classic building from a time when Japan was still adjusting to the modern world. That’s a shame, because the Taisho-era brick facade (finished in 1914) is worth seeing. Or, you can arrive by subway, pass through some underground passages and transfer to a commuter train or Shinkansen. For example, you can enter through the Yaesu Entrance in the back (east side). If you’ve ever been to the real Tokyo Station, you know that it is quite possible to pass through without seeing the building’s historic Marunouchi entrance. So naturally, you would expect to see a lot of real-life station and railroad locations - including Tokyo Station, which nearly gets blown up by terrorists in one episode. Rail Wars!Īs the name implies, Rail Wars! is all about railways. This time, we’ll start with a train trip to an unusual station in Rail Wars. We also explored the setting for Haruhi Suzumiya hit the beach in Ika Musume and looked at the Tokyo teen culture hot spot of Super Gals! In the first one, we visited a small town which loves GeGeGe no Kitaro joined the Lucky Star girls on a meta trip to Kyoto Animation and learned about the K-On! school. But don’t watch the sequels or spin-offs because there is a lot less action in every aspect of the series. This is the second one of my little musings about real-life locations found in anime.
#TENCHI MUYO HOUSE SERIES#
And because the characters have unique powers, the creator of the series can come up whatever kind of crazy names for all of the powers that he wants to. For example, Ryoko got her destructive powers from her creator while Ayaka got her spiritual powersfrom the fact that she is from the planet Jurai. All the main characters in the series have special powers that come from their origination. The fighting brings in another great part about Tenchi Muyo! which are the main characters’ powers. Whenever Ryoko tries to charm Tenchi (more like stalk), she either gets temporarily rejected by Tenchi or gets into a fight with Ayaka which usually ends in destruction of Tenchi’s grandfather’s house. But where I really think some of the best humor comes from is anything that Ryoko is involved in. Some of the humor of Tenchi Muyo! comes from how fast the girls fall in love with Tenchi the girls fall in love with Tenchi basically right after they meet, which is just ridiculous. I think that the best part of Tenchi is its humor.

But the OVA episodes of Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki! are full of epic action scenes, unique space monsters and villains, funny scenes, fan service, and the anime is hand-drawn. Now usually I don’t like harem anime series. Where I Started Watching: Anime Club (2006) Tenchi’s grandfather’s house and shrine, space, mountains Significance: main character’s second love interest Personality: powerful, bossy, all nice to Tenchi, trickster, funny With four beautiful women stranded in his house, will Tenchi ever get any rest?! Tenchi’s troubles aren’t over yet as the Jurai princesses, the strict, Ayeka and, the playful, Sasimi and, the clumsy, Galaxy Police Officer Mihoshi fall from space attempting to capture Ryoko for her crimes as a space pirate. Now he has released a demon! Ok, actually the demon is a really beautiful and dangerous space pirate name Ryoko, but she did destroy his school. Tenchi ignored his grandfather’s warning to never go inside the cave’s shrine by his house. Number of Episodes: 13 (30 minutes x 13 episodes = 390 minutes) Themes: space, harem, alien races, pirates from other planets, scientistsįrom other planets, princesses from other planets, ancient powers Genre: action, adventure, slice of life, comedy, romance,
